The Crises and the Sunglasses
I don’t exist anymore. These few words- have much meaning.
The short, yet informative video begins with the story of a seemingly ordinary mans
current living situation. The government demolished his home to to make way for an
endeavor and they did not consider him when the process began. This resonated with
me because as a child I remember having to move from where we lived because AU
purchased the area and they were going to add some commercial buildings and tear
down the houses off Nursery Rd. However, I am unable to empathize with him at the
level of sadness and loss that he is experiencing. I do know that I was angry that we did
not have much of a choice, as well as I was bothered to drive by the area once we
moved. As if it was a permanent reminder of how ultimately there was always someone
who could kick us out or buy us out or the like.
I have familiarized myself with several philosophies (including nihilism), which is the
rejection of all religious and moral principles, in the belief that life is meaningless. Yet
when people choose to recognize that meaningless it is usually people who have the
choice. I am not sure that made sense. For example: the man in the video the crisis and
