Quantitative and Qualitative are both research methods used in psychology, but they
gather two different types of information. In which Quantitative research focuses more on
gathering numbers while qualitative research focuses on an individual person, which we will be
going more into depth in later in the essay. In addition to just defining the differences of the
methods, I will also give examples of both quantitative and qualitative research methods,
strengths, limitations and I will be comparing both methods to show similarities. I will begin my
essay with the more traditional method which is quantitative research and follow up with
qualitative research, than compare the two.
When it comes quantitative research a more in depth definition is that it “aims to simplify
