In the novel, The Color Purple written by Alice Walker, sets on the time frame of feminism
when she was just a child. Walker grew up as a child with African American parents. Her parents
worked very hard in order to succeed for the education of Alice. Her parents were criticized
because they were working so hard in order for their daughter to learn. During this time, men
believed that women did not need an education because they were not to be smarter than their
husbands and that they didn’t need an education in order to do their household duties. Feminism
