The Cold War
The Cold War was an extremely high tension period of years that started shortly after the
end of World War II. It is referred to as the “cold war” because not a single missile or shot was
fired between the two countries at war, the United States and the Soviet Union. It started due to
the competitiveness between the United States and the Soviet Union on several different fronts.
