“The Case for Working with Your Hands”
The argument of this essay without reading it, is based upon the concept of white-collared
jobs verses blue-collared jobs. In essence, how these too types of job categories differ and why
they do is important. As a society, we have come to the understanding that a white-collared job
implies a more professional description with better wages and benefits. Typically, the stereotype
is said to be office work, meaning being isolated in a cubicle and doing desk work (Keng). As
for blue-collared jobs, we believe this entails the opposite, like hard labor and lower wages. The
