The 14th Amendment
The 14th amendment states that ‘all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and
subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they
reside.” (United States 14) This amendment to the constitution has created a loophole for
immigrants to come into our country and give birth to a child which is now legally a US citizen.
