injuring of hundreds of people.

The suspects for this event were two brothers, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The
two brothers were motivated by Islam, specifically, to protest the U.S. killing of Muslims
overseas.

The type of crime committed was a bombing, in which 3 lives were lost, 17 required
amputations, and roughly 264 were injured. The convicted were given 30 charges, including the
use of a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property resulting in death.
