Terri’s Mama as a Nurse
In the short story, Senior Picture Day by Michele Serros, the main character visits
Terri’s house, which is her best friend. Terri’s mama ends up being one of the most kind and
hardworking mothers. At one point the main character says, “Man, Terri’s mama made their
whole life like an afternoon commercial. Hi-C, Pringles in a bowl, the whole house smelling
like a pine forest. Was Terri lucky or what?” (Serros 53). Even though Terri’s mama has some
