According the home page of Facebook, Facebook said that
We are building Facebook to make the world more open and transparent,
which we believe will create greater understanding and connection. Facebook
promotes openness and transparency by giving individuals greater power to
share and connect, and certain principles guide Facebook in pursuing these
goals. Principles should be constrained only by limitations of law, technology,
and evolving social norms. We therefore establish these Principles as the
foundation of the rights and responsibilities of those within the Facebook
Service. (Facebook, n.d)
Farfan (n.d) said “Facebooks mission is to give people the power to share and make
the world more open and connected.”
Mark Zuckerberg wants to make Facebook the leader in transparency and control
around privacy. Facebook has announced more than 20 new tools and resources
designed to give its users more control over their Facebook experience. Zuckerberg
also professes that privacy is deeply embedded in all of the development the company
does. Every day, Facebook makes tens of billions privacy access checks to ensure it is
enforcing that only the people you allow can see your content (Zuckerberg, 2011).
2. Distinctive competencies:
Facebook hits the number one spot. It most certainly has a lot of advantages when it
tackles about communication per se. It can allow it users to track down long lost
friends, acquaintances and relatives that they havent seen for years. Users are able to
meet new groups and are able to interact with their likes and dislikes. Through the
