Television advertising is still no doubt the popular medium for advertising. The prior
reason behind this is it reaches a very larger number of audience than any other medium,
and it does so with in a short period of time. Do you think that online, mobile, digital
advertising mediums in general can close the doors of television advertising? Strange if
TV is losing its appeal why would most families have 2-3 in their house? Television has
not even lost one ounce of its potential to sell a product.
Do you know the fact that two-thirds (62.4% to be precise) of all the advertising dollars
spent by the major advertising buyers was invested on television advertising.
In the world of so many different screens in addition to TV, television must be getting lost
in the shuffle of tablets, e-reader, smartphones etc., right? Do you still want to hold this
thought?
According to a survey conducting from Microsoft Advertising, nearly three-quarters of
multi-screen consumers are open to advertising on TV, compared to 51% on tablets and
57% on computers.
Despite the internet’s steady growth in the recent times, television has been the dominant
medium in most American households. On an average, the general population spends
around for and half hours before the TV, making it the most popular leisure activity. Many
surveys even in the recent times proved that the audience are still casting their vote for
television even in the modern era. For instance, television bureau of Canada is one among
those who made the recent survey proving the same.
All in all, television advertising is the most popular advertising medium and it has already
shown its mark even with the latest advents. So, don’t get into misconception that
television advertising is fading.
