Teen Suicide an Issue
The text that I will be analyzing is, “Introduction to Teen Suicide: At Issue,” by Christine
Watkins. In the text, the author gives specific examples as to why it is so important for parents
and teachers to pick up on signs of depression in a teen which could then lead to suicide and
suicidal ideation. While the author has specific cases, statistics, and seems to have good
knowledge; however, with the lack of personal experience or information on the topic it
distances herself from the audience. In the text that author could showcase authenticity using
ethos, pathos, and logos with some minor errors.
