Ted Talk on Emails and Privacy
The video on the talk of emails and privacy relate to the discussion on Wednesday by going over
what privacy we have and don’t. For example, we don’t have any protection on the internet because the
government can do unwarranted intrusions without us even knowing. Another example that we may
never know who might be looking at our data or emails would be the companies themselves because
from what he said on the video is that the key to unlock the encryption is on the server and not on the
computer. To be honest, the Amendments does go over what privacy and protection we have, but I don’t
think that it would imply or cover the online internet since these Amendments put in place without the
internet even being existed. I think these Amendments only cover over a broad look on protection and
privacy. What should be done is for new Amendments that cover online privacy and protection that can
be implemented to protect online users. The speaker in the video talks about encryption and emails that
were discussed in class on Wednesday. He goes over that encryption is the key to being protected but
not in how it is done at the moment, but that it needs to be changed so that the keys are not provided
on the server where they can be open by anyone.
My thoughts for the video is that I agree with what he is saying about the privacy and encryption
