The Impact of Technology
Welcome to the future! Where instant gratification runs society, and human beings don’t
have to work as hard because we have computers to do everything for us. In the past fifty years
we have seen many technological advances come and go, but some are here to stay for better or
for worse. Without it we wouldn’t have the means to communicate with our family or closest
friends, we wouldn’t have the luxury of looking up complex problems that we are unable to
solve, and humans would have to work a lot harder. Although it has a positive impact on society,
technology is slowly taking over, and we are becoming more dependent on it for every aspect of
our lives.
Humans in a way, have created a monster. We have not only created huge advancements
in technology, but also destroyed any independence from it that humanity once had. Arguing that
technology hasn’t had a positive impact on humans would be foolish, but one has to wonder how
we ever went without. Technology is such a broad term, hearing it now we might just refer to the
popular systems like computers, laptops, cellphones, and TV’s, but technology can be traced
clear back to when the first wheel was invented before the 4th millennium BC. The wheel has
become one of the most famous and useful technologies to date.[ CITATION Rai09 \l 1033 ]
Technology is all around us; we are so used to it that we don’t even know its true classification.
The definition of technology is “the use of science in industry, engineering, etc. to invent useful
