The Afghan Taliban is a Sunni activist group. It was officially created in 1994 to
establish a strictly ruled Afghan state. There are several reasons and powers behind Taliban
emergence. They fought against Russia and win the cold war. At the end of the cold war, the
Taliban starts the civil war against the Afghan government to rule the country. After 9/11
America attacked Afghanistan and still the situation is not in control. In short, the Taliban
emerged due to war with Russia and after the incident of 9/11; they are still fighting with
America.
The Afghan Taliban were actually “mujahidin” who fought in 1969-1989 against Russia.
Their organization was officially created in 1994. Majority supporters of the Taliban were
madrassa students of Afghan and Pakistan. In the cold war, Russia sends its forces to
