I have my first real experience as a writer here in English Composition. Before this class,
most of my works are just graded by my teacher, not viewed and commented by my peers. I find
myself not very good a writer with many grammar errors, lack of cohesion in my paragraph and
so on. I have improved a lot since the beginning of the class with the critical learning modules. I
learned how to write from 1st and 3rd points of view. I learned how to write for different
audience. The thing I enjoy the most was to learn how to brainstorm and organizing ideas.
There are many style formats such as MLA, Chicago, and so on. Each has their own style
of writing, so I have to learn how to do it. I feel more confident in researching and integrating
sources now, and with the help of the Cite Machine citing a source has never been any easier. I
would not be able to finish this full-length researched feature with the help of it.
I think the area that I need to focus on improving the most is how to connect sentences
and paragraphs together. Therefore, it would be easier for the audience to follow with my ideas.
In order to do so, I have to brainstorming and make an outline for my work first. Then based on
that, I would construct my ideas around it. My peer responses have been extremely helpful, since
they are my audience, their opinions are very spot on.
