Systematic Theology and Me
Before I started this class, I had no idea what Systematic Theology was. I just thought that it was another
form of a single belief that had a certain system of thought to it. As I got further into the course, I realized that
Systematic Theology was a discipline of Christian theology that formulates a coherent, rational, and orderly
account of the doctrines of the Christian faith that had related disciplines of religion which are apologetics,
philosophy, ethics, and dogmatics. Theology has been a challenge for me, but now after taking this course, it
brings everything that I have learned all together and has answered many of the questions that I had about the
history of religion and the people behind them.
Some of the fascinating points that I learned was during my first week. Although it was not an actual
part of my graded homework, I loved looking up the key names, words, and phrases and answering the
questions for chapter 1. (McGrath 2016, pg 19). This chapter was an eye-opener for me, but I do believe that my
favorite assignment was during week 6 when we read about the “Quest for the Historical Jesus.” Before I read
