Course Description: Principles of Accounting II: (3 hours)
Course Purpose: The primary emphasis of the course is on introductory topics in managerial accounting. The course focus is on
how managers use accounting information to make decisions within the business enterprise.
Course Prerequisite: BUS211 (Principles of Accounting I) with a minimum grade of “C.”

Understand the purpose and nature of managerial accounting.
Prepare reports and schedules for internal business decisions.
Analyze and interpret accounting and financial information for use in decision making and anticipate the
impact of alternative decisions.
Understand and use product costing and cost accounting systems as tools meet organizational goals.

Differentiate between financial and managerial accounting.
Demonstrate an understanding of managerial accounting cost concepts
Understand managerial accounting costing systems and prepare related reports: Job Order and Process
Costing systems, Variable Costing, and Absorption Costing.
