Purpose
The collective purpose of the study was to acknowledge and distinguish the change in habits
amongst young adults during the coronavirus pandemic.
Objectives
The goal of this survey report is to identify the changes of habits due to COVID-19 which was
enforced by the following:
To better understand the use and type of streaming services people used during the
pandemic.
To recognize the interest of going to concerts before and after COVID-19.
To evaluate social media habits that were created during and after the pandemic.
To comprehend the change in spending habits of the respondents during the pandemic.
Methodology
The survey applied for this research project was conducted through Qualtrics, an online survey
platform. The class of PUR 3500 was able to collectively draw a sample through extended family
and friends of the USF students. As a screened question, respondents were asked, “Which of the
following categories includes your age?”. According to the data, all of our participants fit the
parameters of the 18-29 category with the mass being female. The respondents were contacted
through various forms of communication such as social media, text, and email. A total of 309
respondents took part in the survey. The duration of the survey lasted from Wednesday, March
31st, 2020 to Sunday, April 4th, 2020. The survey included 57 questions in addition to 2
demographic questions and 1 screened question. Among our respondents, 73.2% were female,
25.8% were male, and 1% preferred not to say. A great deal of our respondents (42%) were in
the age range of 21-23, 31.9% were 18-20, 15.3% were 24-26%, and 10.8% were 27-29.

Results
Streaming Services
With the options given, the top three streaming services, Disney+ (56.5%), Netflix (45.1%), and
Hulu (40.2%), were chosen when respondents were questioned for which of the following they
had a subscription for or recently gained access to since the beginning of the pandemic.

More than half, 59.1%, of the respondents disagreed that they are likely to purchase premier
access to a film on an existing subscription to a streaming service, whereas 27.6% agreed that
they are likely to make that purchase.

Of the respondents, 65.4% chose premier streaming and/or pay-per-view as their choice of
method to watch a new movie during the COVID-19 pandemic. Traditional movie theaters came
in with 22% and coming closely behind is drive-in movie theater with 20.6%.
After the pandemic, 80.5% of the respondents said that they would watch movies in a traditional
movie theater. Drive-in movie theaters came in with 51.7% and premier streaming and/or pay
