To determine whether or not a person could refrain from using their amazingly gifted powers for
things less than good, really depends on how powerful the user feels that their powers tend to be.
To start, I think if you tell someone that they have super powers that no one else in this world
has, they will see that you can’t influence them. So I believe that if the person realizes what they
really have, there is no say in what they will do. Maybe they were raised in a society in which
women are objectified, so they don’t feel guilty using x-ray vision to see through the clothing of
women and see them bare. Or maybe privacy is seen as a very essential piece in their life, so they
refrain from using x-ray vision for devious things, like spying.
I honestly don’t think you can just choose to refrain from corruption. Human curiosity
and people tending to be nosy will always result in corruption. Eavesdropping is considered not
using your powers in a just way, so that is corruption, but isn’t really seen as a terrible thing to
