I decided to look at a research study about children and Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome (SIDS). The study investigated sleeping arrangement as a risk factor for the
SIDS national risk reduction campaign that happened in 1991. The study took place in
England over a two-year period with a combined population of 17 million people.
Where they aimed there study towards the infant age range of 7 days to 364 days old.
Were they conducted interviews with there parents a+er an infants death and a couple
follow up interviews a+er the death a few weeks later. (Fleming)
In conclusion they had 195 babies who died of SIDS and 780 matched controls.
Their hypothesis was does sleeping on your stomach or sleeping on your side increase
