Students in Wealthier Families have an Advantage Over Their Counterparts
in Success in School and Tests.
Wealthier students from families with higher socioeconomic status are at an advantage
compared to those from lower SES families because higher SES families provide access to
otherwise unavailable resources. As stated by Chiu, “These results showed that children in
families with more resources had more learning opportunities…the resource provider
