Introduction
As human beings, every action, every choice, every thought, and every breath is controlled by
the functions and structures of our brains. Our brains control us from the time we wake up in the
morning, to the time we go to bed at night. As children, we have the greatest ability to take in
knowledge and learn, and as we get older we lose more and more knowledge as we gain and throw
away knowledge constantly. Our brains turn into the waste bin in your office cubicle, constantly taking
in more information and having to expel the knowledge you already had. In this paper we will discuss
our brain’s parts and their functions in cognition and learning. We will also discuss different types of
learning and separate examples of each.
