Current situation facing U.S. Stroller
The current situation in U.S Stroller Company is to change their current manufacturing
system of MRP to JIT approach. Judy Hawkins, Sister to Clem Hawkins the director of
manufacturing for U.S Stroller, she the one proposing the change of the system after returning
from a conference on JIT manufacturing at the University of North Carolina. The company has
high inventories, poor customer service, and high costs, but Judy thinks if they change the
current system to JIT approach, U.S Stroller will able to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and
ultimately reduce costs and inventory. This is possible in view of the fact that, companies, which
have already used JIT, have achieved the same results. Since the Director feels there is high
