“Strain”
My analysis during this essay will focus on the signi”cance of
marijuana used as a purposeful median in an intelligent social society. What
responsibilities come with the legalization of marijuana? And what bene”ts
may come from its legalization? Realistic motives for legalization, and
arguments for the legalization of marijuana will be discussed from a pro-
legalization point of view during this persuasive essay.
Our culture de”nes us; it is the fountain of our principles, morals,
values, and our faith. Here now, at the beginning of the twentieth century we
dawn upon a time of great change. A moment, which for the “rst time, the
U.S. government is beginning to pass legislation legalizing the use and
registered distribution of marijuana in multiple states in America. As of now,
20 states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes, voters in
Washington and Colorado have approved recreational use. After alcohol, it is
the most popular of what are called “recreational drugs”. Despite a growing
and pro”table legal cannabis industry, our federal government continues to
ban marijuana in some states. Insisting it has no current accepted medical
use. A wise man said, “Over-thinking ruins you. Ruins the situation, twists
things around, makes you worry and just makes everything much worse than
it actually is.” Today we live in a very fast pace world, and our
communication from each other is not far, with time we have grown as a
nation and learned from our past mistakes. One thing seems clear, that the
United States o8cial stance on marijuana is shifting quickly.
In contrast with stoner stereotypes, marijuana usage has had or been
shown to have positive mental effect, especially in terms of increasing
creativity. Though some research shows an individual’s short-term memory
to function worse when high, people improve at tests requesting they come
up with new ideas. One study tested that the participants with their own
abilities, come up with different words related to a speci”c concept. They
also found that smoking cannabis allowed individuals to create a larger range
of related concepts, improving the brain at detecting remote associations
that lead to innovative and radically new ideas.
A Survey conducted in 2005 by the National Survey on Drug Use and
Health, estimated 97.5 million Americans aged 12 or older tried marijuana at
least once in their lifetimes, representing 40.1% of the U.S. population in that
age group. This statistic is amazing and makes we ponder the question, Why
