Live Nation
Background
At the beginning of summer, we were asked to a pick a publicly traded company to
research. I decided to stick with a company I am familiar with that also applies to my major, live
and performing arts management. The company’s stock I have been following and researching
is Live Nation. Most people are familiar with this company if you go to live events. Live Nation
owns music venues all across the world, and focus on entertainment show promotions. This
where they make a lot of money, instead of selling CDs now artists rely on touring and event
promotions Live Nation also has several subsidiaries that most are familiar with such as,
Ticketmaster, House of Blues, and Jay Z’s record label, Roc Nation Records. Before starting to
follow their daily stock activity I decided to get some background on their website to see what
their stocks looked like in previous years. I noticed in 2006 share prices were around $20 the
entire year while in 2009 their prices only reached $4.09. I then tried to do some digging and
