Amazon is going through a research and development phase that is going to redefine day
to day convenience through the usage of technology. The drone project along with added hubs
will change how fast packages are delivered to consumers. Despite that type of asset allocation,
Amazon still saw a net income increase of 397.82%. Additional Amazon made an inspiring
acquisition when they bought out the emerging Whole Foods.
Amazon’s vision and mission are true indicators of the strategic approach both short and
long term. Their vision is to be earth’s most customer centric company, and that broad statement
allows them to truly strive on making the consumer experience as convenient and hassle-free as
possible. The man leading the vision and values of Amazon Jeff Bezos is founder and also is the
current board member of The Business Council headquartered in D.C. Their lead Independent
Director Thomas Ryder has stake in many hotel chains and technological giants like
Quad/Graphics Inc. John Brown is the oldest of the members and provides research and
development knowledge from Palo Alto Research Center. In my opinion, having a diverse and
strong board of directors is crucial to public traded companies having success in pleasing
shareholders.
