Abstract:
The Spanish speaking country I’m doing my research on is Cuba.
Everything I’ve stated on every page is correct information that I’ve
retrieved from many sources. While doing my research on Cuba , I learned
so many new things about the country such as ,food ,the government, flag
etc. Cuba is a very interesting country to educate yourself about.

Cuban flag:
The national flag of Cuba consists of three colors, which include three blue
and white stripes and a red triangle at the top that has one star in it. The Cuban
flag was designed in 1849 and was official may 20th 1902 . The flag was designed
by narciso Lopez and a poet by the name of Miguel Teurbe Toulon. Miguel’s wife
sewed the flag herself, but the final design was chosen by Jose Anicento Berrell
,his nephew Jose Iznaga , Arillo Villaverd and Juan Macias. The blue stripes
represent the three department which Cuba was divided in at that time, the
white purity of ideals, the light the red triangle, originating from the French
Revolution. The three ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity: red for the blood
and the courage; the star was the new state that should be added to the United
States.

Cuban history :
Cuba was first founded by the guanchatabey and Taino Native Americans.
These people were farmers, hunters, and fishers. In the year of 1492
Christopher Columbus landed at Cuba and claimed the land for Spain. Upon
his arrival Columbus name the land Isla Juana, but later down the road the it
was named Cuba. The name Cuba comes from the Native Americans who’s
name was Coabana.
The capital and the largest city of Cuba is Havana. Cuba is one of the biggest
Spanish speaking country around the world. Cuba calling code is +53 and the
government is unitary Marxist – ceninist one party socialist republic. Cuba
has a few ethnic groups which 51% mulatto, 37% which primarily are of
Spanish decent, 11% black, and 1 % Chinese. The first secretary of secretary
of the communist party for Cuba was Raul Castro. The president of Cuba is
Mr. Salvador valde’s Mesa. The prime minister of Cuba is Mr. Manuel
Marrero Cruz. Cuba’s Declaration of Independence took place October 10th
1868 . The landowner Carlos Manuel de cespedes declared for Cuban
independence and freedom for slaves, which caused a ten year war, which
lasted from 1868 to 1878. The war was unsuccessful and culminated in the
U.S intervention that ended the Spanish colonial presence in the Americas.
This was caused over 200,000 people’s lives to be taken away. In the year of
1880 Spain give Cuba representation in the Cortes and abolished slavery in
the year of 1886. In 1895 the war of independence took place and Antonio
Gomez employed sophisticated guerrilla rtfs in leading the revolutionary
army to take control of the eastern religion. In 1895 they declared the
republic of Cuba and sent Maceo’s forces to invade the western province’s.
