Cuban history :
Cuba was first founded by the guanchatabey and Taino Native Americans.
These people were farmers, hunters, and fishers. In the year of 1492
Christopher Columbus landed at Cuba and claimed the land for Spain. Upon
his arrival Columbus name the land Isla Juana, but later down the road the it
was named Cuba. The name Cuba comes from the Native Americans who’s
name was Coabana.
The capital and the largest city of Cuba is Havana. Cuba is one of the biggest
Spanish speaking country around the world. Cuba calling code is +53 and the
government is unitary Marxist – ceninist one party socialist republic. Cuba
has a few ethnic groups which 51% mulatto, 37% which primarily are of
Spanish decent, 11% black, and 1 % Chinese. The first secretary of secretary
of the communist party for Cuba was Raul Castro. The president of Cuba is
Mr. Salvador valde’s Mesa. The prime minister of Cuba is Mr. Manuel
Marrero Cruz. Cuba’s Declaration of Independence took place October 10th
