University
While the team performance is an important measure of Team success, the coaching
staff and the University is also greatly concerned about the educational success of our
athletes. Therefore, the graduation rates of our student-athletes are an important
measure of our team success
In the recruitment process, we would like to ensure that we are recruiting student–
athletes who will complete their educational goals measured through graduation. We
will utilize descriptive and Predictive Analytics to address the following questions:
How do the particular means of the recruiting class compare to the means of the
general university population? We will review the:
Average GPA
Null Hypothesis: University GPA is equal/less than Recruiting GPA
Alternative Hypothesis: University GPA is greater than Recruiting GPA
Average Total SAT Score (Ave SAT):
Null Hypothesis: University Ave SAT is equal/less than Recruiting Ave SAT
Alternative Hypothesis: University GPA is greater than Recruiting GPA
Average Class Ranking (CR):
Null Hypothesis: University CR is equal/less than Recruiting Ave CR
Alternative Hypothesis: University CR is greater than Recruiting CR
Based upon particular factors, can we predict the graduation rates of the recruiting
classes?
Information has been collected through the University. This information includes:
The Average Grade Point Average* of each Freshman class.
The Average Total Standard Aptitude Test score of each Freshman class.
The High School Graduating Class Rank of each Freshman class
The Graduation % of each Freshman Class after 4 years of college.
The Graduation % of each Freshman Class after 5 years of college.
The Graduation% of each Freshman Class after 6 years of college.
The Average Grade Point Average of each Freshman class.
The Average Total Standard Aptitude Test score of each Freshman class.
The High School Graduating Class Rank of each Freshman class
