Stairs, Stares, and all they will see are Stars
An old woman, who lived in an old house was wheelchair bound and depressed
about everything in the world. The woman would either sit beside a window and smoke
a cigarette or watch television alone. She’s been alone ever since the mysterious
murder of her husband of 30 years. The old woman claimed to be upstairs when it
happened and was sleeping. By the time she got up, she woke up to her husband dead
and alone on the first floor of the house. She then called the police to notify them while
on the second floor of the house. Now, the woman has a caretaker who comes to her
house everyday to help her with anything she needs and to get her upstairs. The only
way to do this however, is for her to be carried up the stairway that connected both
floors. One night, the old woman who was upstairs called the police to notify them that
when she woke up, she found her caretaker. The caretaker was dead and alone on the
first floor of the house. It was a rainy night that day and there were many other calls that
came in around the woman’s neighborhood that were murders. That night, the only
person that could investigate the murder was one detective, Detective Castellanos.
When he entered the house, he found the old woman at the top of the stairway, so he
immediately disregarded her as a suspect. Castellanos felt bad for her, “To have two
people who cared about you, only to die one year apart, it truly is heartbreaking” he said
