Narrative Speech Outline
Title: Stuck in the Weeds
General Purpose: To share my story of going through depression and anxiety.
Specific Purpose: After hearing my speech, my audience will hopefully understand what it is like
to go through depression and anxiety.
Thesis: Throughout the journey of being diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety I
experienced behavioral centers, felt my state of mind, and learned how to appreciate the little
things that life holds.
Attention Getter: “Mind over matter” implies that the mind is the foundation of the functioning
body.
Relation to Audience: We’ve all been through a “phase “in our life that has affected our mental
