Home-based Reinforcement of School Behavior: A Review and Analysis
This article explains the measures that schools have tried to implement to
alleviate the behaviors of children in the school by using home-based techniques to get
their parents more involved as well as creating a pipeline of other ways to enforce
communication and home-based measure. “Twenty-four studies are reviewed with
particular attention given to types of consequences employed and methods of gaining
parental involvement” (Barth, 1979, p. 440).
Report cards have been generally thought of as a way to communicate with
parents on the progress of their children, but can only say so much and doesn’t always
