Soybeans and Soybean Oil in Biodiesel Production
Introduction
Soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill), are a well-rounded legume (Gustavo et al, 2018).
When they are soft, young, and a lighter-green color, they can be harvested for human
consumption and are named edamame. Soybeans are the product of a completely mature and dry
bean, which is a mostly uniform light-brown color, and hard. The resulting soybeans are either
planted again or turned into oil, which can be used for food or industrial applications (Cheng and
Rosentrater, 2017).
