Some Lessons from The Assembly Line by Andrew Braaksma shows a great example of
how important education is. This article allows the author to show the differences with college
life and a blue-collar labor. Braaksma used his summers as an escape from his college routine
expecting big pay out from long days and hard work but ended up learning lessons that were
eye opening. The author uses his experiences in the factories and the difficult time the comes
with little or no education verses his easy life with an education at his fingertips. The author
used the long hours and hard work with low wages while using heavy machinery and back
breaking work as life without a degree which made his drive stronger to study and educate
others about the uncertainties in the blue-collar workforce. His article allows him to use his
