Software piracy is becoming a large problem on the internet nowadays. Companies are
selling their products online for huge sums of money, and they expect everyone to
download it legally by buying a license to the software program. But with simple research
on the internet, you can find a way to get almost any software program out there for free.
With all the software piracy going on throughout the world, how bad is it affecting the
companies that put out these products?
We all know someone who pirates some form of entertainment or software on the internet.
Whether it be movies, songs, or programs, there is always a way to get these goods without
having to pay. I myself used to be a big software pirate when I was still in high school. For
example, I had over 1,000 songs on my iTunes and three movies, and I did not pay for a
single thing. My friends had shown me websites to get these products without pay, and
without any repercussions. Within minutes, I learned how to work the system and get
anything I needed for free onto my laptop. First I started with music, because I had an iPod
but insufficient songs to listen to. With iTunes selling each song for $0.99, there was no
