Socrates willing ready to die for his beliefs was such an eye-opener and really got
me thinking about what I would die for. It wasn’t an easy topic to think about
because well, it’s your life you’re talking about but there is a couple of things that
came to mind, and that would be my family and my boyfriend. I would hope it
never came to that point but one thing I know I wouldn’t have to think twice
about dying for would be for my family. My mom and dad have taught me so
much and have provided for me my whole life, so why wouldn’t I want to repay
them by sacrificing myself in order for them to live? Every time I’m going
through a rough patch, my mom is the first person I turn to, she always gives me
the comfort and love I need to feel better. The thought of losing them is terrifying
and I know that one day they won’t be here anymore but if I was able to prevent
that, I wouldn’t think twice. Another reason why I would die for my family is that
my mom and dad can’t live without each other, so if one of them passed on then
it would be like I lost both of them. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is someone
that means so much to me and provides me with so much love, respect, and
support, he’s the person I would die for because of the true love he gives me. I
don’t know how I would survive if something happened to him so I feel like that’s
a sign of true love and love is sometimes a sacrifice. The thought of dying for
someone or something is scary but at the end of the day if that person or idea
means the world to you then the thought isn’t as scary anymore.
