Sociology
“To build community requires vigilant awareness of the work we must continually do to
undermine all the socialization that leads us to behave in ways that perpetuate domination”,
said by Bell Hooks. “Socialization is the process through which people are taught to be
proficient members of a society. It describes the ways that people come to understand societal
norms and expectations, to accept society’s beliefs, and to be aware of societal values”
(Keirns, N. et al., 2013, p. 100). Socialization refers to the ways in which people learn to
conform to their societies, norms, values, and roles. It is a key for creating a person. Without
interaction with other people a person loses his human qualities. That is why it plays such an

I did not understand why they did that, but I am appreciated and proud to be their son. My
mother helped my study, whereas my father taught me ethics. They told me how to do
appropriate things at specific occasions. For example, they sometimes say bad language, but
they try their best not to say them in front of me since they do not want me to say them
neither, but some parents do not pay too much attention about this, and they ignore one
important thing, which is children is much more fast to learn than they think, and children
cannot make difference between good and bad. I can say that it is my parents that make me
better. My older brother, although we did not live together when we were kids, he still teaches
