Social Responsibility and Ethics
When Pepsi decided to cut their Super bowl spending by 20 million dollars and reinvest it into a
campaign targeted towards consumers improving their communities, they effectively demonstrated a
Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that was a success. Not only a success by the numbers but also
by their target “millennial” audience they wanted to pursue and create brand awareness around. The
campaign was a success because it utilized social media as the platform to create brand awareness and
an interface with consumers through the internet, which is heavily used by the generation. As for using
social media this was effective in entering a heavily used medium that is dominated by millennial users.
