Social media is the core of communication in today’s world. Business meetings can be held
via skype, peers communicate via Twitter direct message, and Facebook lets the whole world know
what you did last weekend. The Internet is particularly important invention because it enables
people from different countries to share information without travelling and other hassles. It has
also created social networks, whereas we can communicate with friends from other parts of the
world either by sending message through typing or voice call. Social media has given teens more
ways to express themselves, but has come at a high price (Knight, 2010). Communication between
bright plastic screens seems to be more common form of “speaking” than having a small chat with
a bus mate. Though this con to communication is nothing compared to the pros of social
networking, freedom to express oneself, and quick communication. In today’s world, each person
follows and connects with others in order to further their development as individuals and contribute
