Subjective:
• Smith, 21, played midfielder for Keller against Central. As he was going to shoot his
planted foot (left), which was slightly bent, was hit by the defender in the knee.
• Smith fell back and lay on the field in pain.
• Patient described initial impact with a “popping” sound and noticed some swelling
afterwards.
• First time patient has injury in knee area, which is worse laterally than medially. Has no
previous history regarding a severe injury.
• Pain rate of 10, felt pop following searing, burning, and intense pain after the popping
sound.
• Having difficulty moving and putting weight on the leg.
Objective:
• Sever swelling noted though the left knee, and special test revealed that significant
