Cultural Trends:
The film I chose to research about is the television series “Sons of Anarchy.” Sons of
Anarchy is about a motorcycle club from Charming, California. Usually when people think of
motorcycle gangs or clubs, they associate them with being thugs and criminals. Although, SOA
is involved with several illegal activities, people consider them outlaws not criminals, but
everyone from the town of Charming know that they are a necessary evil. Throughout the
series it shows how the club sticks together and what their true values are. The Sons value
family over everything, they show how everything has a consequence, and it shows how much
power can really change a person.
Jaxon Tellor is the main character in the series. His father is the main founder of the club
and had visions of getting the club to get away from their illegal activities. Throughout the show
Jax struggles with finding his way of protecting his family and the club. When something is
happening with the club that threatens one of their families everything is done to protect one
another. That shows how caring they really are. People think of gangs to only care about the
money or what they’re doing not about the lives at stake but that’s what makes them different.
They are always looking to protect their family.
