Smoking in Public Places and Second-Hand Smokers
The world has been struggling with some issues that are controversial. The government
of each country has been playing a big role of solving a lot of problems. One of the most
controversial issues currently is banning smoking in public places. People have been negotiating
about this problem for a long time. Whether they are smokers or a secondhand smokers or even
some of them that have never smoked and against smoking. Most of the time the focus is on the
secondhand smokers which is more effective than smoking itself. There are supporters and
opposition for this problem with their own reasons to be with or against the idea of banning
smoking in public places.
Many people believe that smoking in public places should be illegal because it harms
people’s health. People always complain about it and they want to ban smoking as it might affect
their lives when they smoke inside offices or schools. Sarah Clune Said:
one was that smoking is dangerous to people around the smoker. So, it’s one thing if a
smoker wants to smoke, it’s his or her business, but as one tobacco control advocate said,
if you can smell it, it may be killing you. We’re familiar with the secondhand smoke
argument — that’s what happens if you ban smoking in a bar, or a restaurant. But the
beach or a park is a very different location. It’s open, the air is open. So what is the risk?
And the public health people said, we don’t know the exact risk, but there is a risk, and
it’s unacceptable. Even though, it is annoying to many people to smell or inhale bad air
fresh.

On the other hand, other people believe that smoking should be legal in public places
.Even if smoking is a bad habit and it is harmful to the health, Smoking tobacco is enjoyable and
it helps the smoker focus, thus making them more productive in their studies or work. Although,
we cannot force them to smoke only in smoke places .a student said in a survey: “Smoking has
been proven to be extremely harmful for human consumption. The frequency with which a
person smokes also affects the amount of damage caused by smoking. If smoking will be banned
in public places, the smoker will have to abide by the law, and as a result, he will smoke less.
