Sir Gawain and The Wife of Bath: A Tale of Two Knights
In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” there are similarities
and differences within each literary work. Geoffrey Chaucer’s work “The Wife of Bath’s Tale”
is about a knight who rapes a maiden and is then sent on a quest by the queen to answer the
question, “What thing it is that wommen most desiren?” (911) If the knight does not complete
the quest and return with the correct answer within one year he will be killed. In Sir Gawain and
the Green Knight, written by the unknown Gawain poet, the green knight comes to Camelot to
