Short Paper/Book Review
In the book, Common Sense Economics, it contained qualifying elements that all mattered
when it came to the study and production of economics. Out of all of the elements that were
listed in the book, two main elements remained the most important to me, and those were
incentives matter from Part I and use budgeting to help you save regularly and spend your money
more effectively from Part IV. The reason I chose these two elements is because they were the
ones that I will be able to relate to personal experiences. I think that these two elements are
common to experience for my age group and they will always be common in most age groups.
In Part I, incentives matter, is the first element on the list of key elements that relate to
economics. On page 6 it reads, “Changes in incentives influence human behavior in predictable
ways. Both monetary and non-monetary factors influence incentives. If something becomes more
costly, people will be less likely to choose it. Correspondingly, when an option becomes more
