Why do we need policies?
According to Merriam- Webster Dictionary, a policy is a high-level overall plan embracing
the general goals and acceptable procedures especially of a governmental body. (Merriam-
Webster, n.d.) Policies are set rules or guidelines for a particular organization and their
employees to follow to achieve compliance. Policies often answer questions about what
employees should perform and why they do it. In this paper, I will discuss three organizations’
sexual harassment policies: Ford Motor Company, JPMorgan Chase, and Macy’s.
The Ford Motor Company, generally known as Ford, is an American global auto
manufacturer with its main headquarters located in Dearborn, Michigan. Having such a big
company policy are set into place, while reading their employee handbook, I found their section
