– Metaethics pertains to this quotation as it shows that human goodness and happiness
originates from the soul. As goodness lies in the soul, we are able to know in what sense
can moral judgments be true or incorrect. Through this, we could naturally understand and
reason out ethical attitudes and judgments.

– Normative ethics applies to this quotation as the standards of rightness and wrongness are
being evaluated. In times when we feel like everything is difficult, we are often confronted
with different choices, may it be good or bad, which could possibly influence our actions.
