Though the service learning activities may have been strenuous, I found that these
opportunities taught me some good examples and some not so good examples of
leadership. I saw great leaders in the Coastal Restoration people we worked with. These
leaders worked along side of us with motivational words the whole step of the way and
reminded us of the good we were doing. Also, Kevin, from the New Orleans Police and
Justice Foundation, was a great leader as well. Although I was not in his group, I got the
pleasure of walking with him for one of my canvassing days and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
He kept talking the whole time and stayed positive and upbeat, I never felt like he did not
want to be there. Even though he left us early to walk alone, he reminded us of the good
we were doing to keep us motivated. An example of a not so good leader was the lady
from The Habitat for Humanity service project. Although she seemed extremely motivated,
she did not give a welcoming vibe and honestly I felt as if we were a bother or in the way.
She also seemed to want to do everything by herself and when something was done wrong
she seemed frustrated although this was our first time at it. The importance of leadership
