Hello my name is Brianna Gabriel’ Robinson and my topic is about Cosmetology.
I choose this topic because I plan on majoring in cosmetology in the future and I’m really
interested in learning how to do hair and nails. I think cosmetology is unique in its own
way. The creation of nails designs, hair designs, and others. I honestly believe that I
would enjoy all the hands-on things that come with cosmetology.
The information I have learned that I didn’t know about hair was all the different types
of, the chemicals, & how to properly perm a hair. I’ve also learned about all the haircuts
you can do. Cosmetology includes makeup artist, hair stylist, nail technician, massage
therapist, and an electrologist. You also have to be enrolled in cosmetology school and be
at least 16 years old. A high school diploma is often required for entrance into such a
program.
The product of cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment. For my
product of cosmetology I did a brochure on how to become a licensed cosmetologist and
I also did a brochure on nail technicians. I have been to and observed their techniques and
hairstyles. Another thing I have observed is nails salons.
Professionals in the hair care industry are known by several different titles. Those
specializing in hair services for men are known as barbers, while hairdressers,
cosmetologists and hair stylists are hair care professionals who work with both men and
women. Hair technicians provide various services such as shampooing, conditioning,
cutting, styling, dying, treatments, facial hair removal and wig management. Hair
technicians are required to have a state license unless they only perform shampoo
services. Each state sets its own requirements for receiving a state license, but most
require hair technicians to receive training from an appropriate state-licensed school.
Obtaining a high school diploma or equivalent is a requirement for a state license in
many states. Students can take elective courses while in high school to jump-start their
