Self-indulgence at its Finest
Self-indulgence is not exactly the quality to wish for, however that exact quality is very
important in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. In this interesting play the character Orsino has the
personality trait of self-indulgence. He is portrayed this way in the play through imagery, structure,
and word choice. In fact, it is this character’s self-indulgence that makes for such an interesting play.
Shakespeare provides the audience with imagery that contributes to Orsino’s self-indulgence.
