In cross-cultural research on self-concept and personality on adults ranging in age from
the late teens into the seventies, what three qualities increased from early to middle
adulthood? What do these findings indicate?
Survey conducted in the mid-1990s have contributed enormously to the understanding
of midlife emotional and social development, greatly expanded knowledge of the
multidimensional and multidirectional nature of midlife change these findings of this
study will be referred to at certain times. These findings indicate midlife is generally

their life is they are happy they way they are and nothing will change that.
Automonomy: people that are middle ages seem to care less of what others think about
them, and their expectations. They are more concerned about their own standards.
Environmental Mastery: Middle-aged people saw themselves as capable of managing a
complex array of tasks easily and effectively. I imagine this being my grandparent

baby-boom era or sometime after are the ones that benefiting from woman movement
