Scholarship Essay
If you were awarded a scholarship for the Internship Program, how do you feel this experience would
help shape your future scholastic, work and/or personal goals? (max. 500 words)
If I were awarded the scholarship for the internship, I feel that the experience would help
me with the rest of the time I have left studying at school, give me a better understanding of
some of the subjects we cover, possible give me other ways to look at/evaluate situations on the
farm and greenhouse on campus, give better input when teachers ask for my opinion on a project
or certain subject we are working on, and just further enrich my knowledge on sustainable
agriculture. The internship could also help me at work with giving me ideas or better ways to do
certain research projects me and my coworkers are working on, showing me new or better
techniques I can bring into my place of work that could save us time and energy, and possible
help me move up to better and higher paying positions with the experience I could gain for the
internship. I believe it the program will also help me with my personal goals. I’ve had a dream to
open my own local greenhouse to grow plants and sell to the public. By going to this program
I’m sure to learn useful information I can bring back and use when I finally start to build and run
